This project investigated the application of a billowing form onto a sacred space. Preliminary material studies created an understanding of the spatial qualities generated by such a form. A rigorous digital translation of such form then occured whilst transitioning from analogue to digital.
The project consists of two prayer halls, along with a cultural centre. The site also serves as a public park, serving as a transition between the urban fabric of Sharjah and the Khan lagoon. The unconventional formal exploration of the billowing form ultimately seeks to rethink sacred building typologies within the region.
