This project aims to create a space of rest and contemplation within the quad adjacent to the College of Architecture, Art, & Design at AUS. Drawing on inspiration from the enclosed gardens of Persia and ancient Rome, the Hortus Conclusus provides an internal space for contemplation whilst containing a vast array of vegetation.
The project also serves as a learning space and botanical garden, aimed at showcasing numerous plant species, the study of which could be integrated into the teaching cirriculum. The exterior portion of the enclosed garden also serves as a gathering space capable of hosting events for various campus clubs.
