Metropolitan Metamorphosis seeks to question the ramifications of car culture in the built environment. By investigating its origins and its manifestations, both car culture’s richness and unfortunate detriment have been mapped. A key element explored within this project was car culture’s exportation between the United States and the Global South, focusing on the Middle Eastern Gulf Region and Dubai as a specific case study.
Through three individual site explorations, the project aims to mitigate car culture’s detriment whilst embracing several of its core elements worth celebrating, focusing on broader themes of physical and mental wellness.
